石垣とお堀と神社のある城址公園。入園料は¥210で、歩いても直ぐの距離にある「旧厚狭毛利家萩屋敷長屋」の入館チケットが付いてきます。訪れた5月、藤の花が綺麗に咲いていました。

吉田松陰が処刑された伝馬町牢屋敷、その跡地にある十思公園(東京都中央区)には「松陰先生終焉之地碑」がありますが石碑に使われてる石は萩城の鎮守、宮崎八幡宮の近くで掘り出されたものです。
